Did Not Work in My Gun(2009-12-05)
I have a Remington 700 Police with the X Mark trigger, but that shouldn't have made a difference. The actual spring would not fit onto the post that keeps the spring in place. The Holland SS spring did fit. I showed it to another armorer, and he agreed, Wolf needs to open up the diameter of the spring if they want anyone to use it. That being said, we have no idea if we got a bad spring or not.
Helps a little(2015-07-26)
Because Wolff's customer service is not knowledgeable about this product, I ended up going to another company's web site for installation instructions. This spring is NOT the one that goes behind the trigger. DO NOT try to remove the one that goes behind the trigger, and which is tensioned by the screw in the trigger. It goes in the front of the trigger housing assembly. You will need to remove the factory installed sealant to remove the screw that holds this spring in. Also, it is not as long as the one pictured here. It is about 1/3 that length. Trigger pull was reduced to about 3.5 # with this spring installed. That was on a gun that REMINGTON could not (or would not) reduce below 5 #. I sent two NEW rifles back to Remington because of heavy trigger pull. Despite the fact that the hang tag on the brand new guns states, "3 1/2 pounds out of the box" , Remington was unable to actually bring the guns into spec. The guns were returned to me with a heavy trigger pull, and a note explaining that they adjusted to 4.5# and 5.5 #, NOT 3.5. This spring helped, but keep in mind you will need to void the Remington warranty to bring it into Remington spec.
Junk(2017-12-23)
The factory spring allowed minimum of 4 lbs. This spring was shorter and stiffer than the factory spring. 6lbs was as low as you could go before the set screw no longer contacted the spring and the rifle became unsafe. Save time and money and go another route.
