I have had this bipod about 3 months & used it often in place of my name brand bipods, which I like. The Sinclair tactical fits the traditional front stud, good for me. The Sinclair is much sturdier than the others (but heavier), and the best feature for me is that the legs cant out individually, so the perfect height can be obtained. I used mine on the bench, and prone, shooting PD's. I used a 22-243 13 lb rifle with this bipod and it was like a rock. Didn't give it a 5 star as it tended to have a little slop in the legs. Still, when bipod loaded forward, super sturdy. legs height adjustments are spring loaded & thus adjustable from the prone shooting position. Unusual attachment of bipod to stud, but allows the bipod to be very securely attached.
A great bipod for heavy guns(2011-02-19)
The bipod is very easy to use, good instructions, and a very unique design. The leg width adjustment is a life saver for me. Very sturdy with an 18lb gun on top it. I would recommend for any hunting situation with a heavy gun.Thanks Sinclair.

These bipods are solid and steady to shoot off. They are very adjustable. But I don't like the way the legs can come unattached when you push down on the knelled slider. Also the machine screws that hold the legs on come loose and fall out, they need to be loctited in, this has happened to a friend as well as me.
A MUST FOR LONG SHOTS(2011-11-26)
As ethical long range shooting becomes more popular, you will fing this bipod pretty much is every thing your looking for. First no adapters needed, it fits a standard sling stud. Second it is rock solid. As hunters and varminters push their shooting skills this bipod will help turn a so-so shot into a clean kill shot. It takes about 20 secs to attach/remove and has no stamped parts or rubber yokes, it is all machined aluminum.

Never will I buy a Harris bench rest swivel bipod again. However I recommend that you lock tight the pin knobs on that change the angle of the bipod legs, Mine fell off until I did this!! These are solid, dependable, Very easy to install and remove from rifles, and to adjust legs. They come with pod locs and swivel. They are better than Harris bipods because of the changeable outswing of the legs for low to ground shooting and making a very stable rest. Don't touch anything else on the market till you have played with one of these!!

The 5 star rating reflects my satisfaction with the product. Now, what I wish I had known about routine maintenance before I had a problem. I only shoot 300 WM in the rifle to which this bipod is attached. At about 500 rounds, two screws in the legs worked loose and one fell out (luckly I could find it). At about 600 rounds, the knob on the spring loaded pin used to adjust the angle of the leg came off. I found the knob and the pin but never found the spring. With a quick call to Sinclair, I learned that replacement springs are not available either from Sinclair or the manufacturer. Although Sinclair offered to exchange for a new bipod (and it was out of warranty), I opted to purchase a package of replacement springs (faster fix than shipping the bipod back). The replacement was a precision compression spring of a slightly larger wire size made by Gardner Spring. It was from MSCDirect.com and the MSC number was 02313328. I had to cut off one spring "loop" for proper clearance. I'll now check screws every couple hundred rounds or use a thread sealant to keet the screws from backing out.

Shot my first F-class match with it today and easily added 7 points to my typical match score that I had been getting with the other popular brand of bipod. This bipod has a much wider stance which enabled me to keep my target within my scope's field of view right after a shot. The cant adjustment held rock steady for the whole match, unlike my old bipod that would drift it's cant adjustment with barrel torque as a match went on causing my groups to drift to the left.
The only thing I would like to see improved on this bipod is to take some of the slack out of the leg swivel pivot locking arrangement. Maybe either run a tighter tolerance on the locking pin mechanism, or go with a springed leg arrangement with a positive stop. For now, as long as I remember to preload the legs before squeezing off a shot, all is well.

Definitely a step up from the generic rubbish on the market. It provides a terrifically steady platform for long shots. Here in NZ on pest control the bipod has proved its worth on a .223 Rem. The ability to widen the stance of the legs to lower the aim ponit is a huge plus.
The biggest negative is that it just falls to bits with screws and knobs constantly loosening off. When shooting 200-300 rounds a day this is a major hassle. The cant control also loosens off making rifle control difficult. Overall there is a lot of slop or racing clearance between the components which means it's noisy when carring. When in use this looseness is not apparent. The bipod should be sold with the bottle of loctite.
Sturdy, Innovative Design(2012-08-16)
I didn't want one of the many bi-pods with screen door springs on the outside of the legs. I like the wide stance of the Sinclair bi-pod a lot, and the machined aluminum is a work of art. I just returned from the first range trip with this bi-pod and the two set screws that attach the pull knob to the stainless rod that passes through the sling stud backed out. Fortunately, I discovered this before the tiny set screws backed all the way out and were lost. Also fortunately, I had the small Allen wrench and a small bottle of blue Loctite in my huge range bag and I was able to fix it in about ten minutes at the range and keep shooting. Otherwise, it would have ruined one of the few times a year I'm able to sneak away to shoot. After reading the other reviews, I'm now going to Loctite every fastener on this bi-pod. Considering what I paid, it looks like this would have already been done. There's a lot of wiggle and rattle which makes this bi-pod seem cheap and flimsy until the weight of the rifle is on the bi-pod. Then it locks up solidly for accurate shooting.

Mount on my Weatherby vanguard 308. Easy to installed. I'm tired of those spring design Bi-pod all of them are giving up in long period of time. Sinclair Bi-pod is very solid on any surface,one hand adjustment and good groupings next. Just loctite all the screws and you never have issues.

Had a popular 6-9" bipod before the Sinclair Tactical Bipod (STB) and I was limited in height adjustment at a local Long Range match. Now that I have the STB I have no problem with adjusting the bipod to maintain my shooting position and effectively engage the targets.
What I really like about the SBT is the wide stance when shooting on a more level range. The SBT feels rock solid when preloaded and I will not go back to my other bipod.
One thing I did right out of the box was loctite several of the screws that had previously been mentioned in other reviews. I don't know if it was necessary, but it only took a few minutes and now I don't have that worry in the back of my mind.
I feel that with this purchase I actually bought points at a match.
Only thing I wish was different was that there was 3 holes to adjust the stance rather than just 2.

Just finished 3rd day at the range and my buddy hates my guts. I had been shooting all day with it on a fairly heavy .300 win mag until I ran out of ammo. I then took my friends rifle off his sand bags and put my bipod on(even though he said not to). After about 15 rds he looked at me and said I hate you now I want one. I will never go back to any other bipod. It almost has too much adjustability, if you can't make this bipod work for any situation you shouldn't be shooting. Most well made bipod I have seen. P.S. I have a bad left hand and the controls and adjustment are very easy to use even when it gets cold and my hand gets even worse.

If you want something to operate smoothly and effortlessly don't buy this. Rock solid when you take the time needed to adjust everything. The canting function is too tight to operate loosely. Muscle needed to move cant, not flowing.
Stable, Strong, reliable(2015-06-05)
I shoot a customized Winchester M70 .300 WSM heavy barreled target rifle with this bipod.
Previously, every other bipod ever tried required the canting to be readjusted and tightened after firing due to the recoil and "twisting" of the rifle. This bipod NEVER needs to be tightened and leveled after firing, even after long range sessions. It is a rock. Other reviewers have complained about stiffness or difficulty in adjusting the canting mechanism This does loosen a little over time, but as a magnum rifle shooter, you do not want a loose bipod. I see the issue as a plus.
Also, this bipod allows front-loading, or pushing the bipod forward so it rocks back during recoil, and doesn't otherwise "hop" during the rearward motion of recoil. A real plus.
The very wide stance of the bipod also helps greatly to keep the rifle from twisting during recoil. Bottom line, my group sizes have benefited enormously from the purchase, exactly as I had hoped. Really helps control the recoil in a repeatable kind of way.
It would be nice if it could have interchangeable feet like the Atlas, but I like the heavier weight of the Sinclair model adding to the weight-forward of my rifle.
Top Quality Adjustable Tactical Bipod(2015-08-27)
A customer gave 1 star because the bipod tilt was tight. First, remove extended tilt lever (podloc). Then take off screw dust cover to expose a lock nut and washer. Use a wrench to loosen or tighten tilt of lock nut. Replace dust cap and lever. Heavy duty built with great design of narrow leg stance or widen. Adjustable leg height that has good locking. Why 4 stars: some of the screws had rust, attaching rod for sling swivel is long, so you have to remove bipod to fit rifle case. The two tightening screws slowly comes loose. The retangluar legs have sharp edges that should be debarred or rounded. Last is price: I own a couple of Harris bipod, versa pod, Caldwell and hand full of cheap brands.

I attached this to a new build based on a Ruger M77 Tang Safety with Ruger factory Target barrel in .308 Win. New stock, bedding and Timney trigger as well as a Vortex Viper PST 4-15X50 FFP scope. 40.5 Grain of IMR-4064 in Lapua Palma Cases and CCI BR-4 Primers.
Cold barrel 3 shot group at 200 yards measures as .788" outside to outside (.480" center to center). That's 1/4 MOA!
No other support for the rifle - except my shoulder - was used.
Only Con I would say is it's pricey in a pricey world. OK, the materials and the work just don't add up to $200, but the performance does. I just may buy another for a different gun so I have the convenience of not swapping stuff around.
tactical bipod homerun(2016-05-02)
Been shooting for nearly 60 years. First time to use a bipod. Had no idea what I missed. Was able to overcome lousy shooting conditions with use of bipod. Only had access to 500 yards. Consistent hits at 500 on ram silhouette no problem. Bipod made extremely well and easy to use. Can't wait to shoot a little further. Wouldn't mind if you were able to get it a little lower, but added height in rear to overcome it.
Heavy duty bi-pod (2016-05-29)
I use have used this Bi-pod for three years now. Mostly for long range hunting. It is a not a cheap option But i have very little regrets in buying it . Yes it is very versatile yes it is sturdy and well manufactured as you can expect from the price you pay .
but yes it is also very bulky and very heavy for a by-pod .
After all is said and done if you are going to carry your rifle then it will be a very good choice .....if you have to carry your rifle on foot up mountains like me ...well i lighter version would assist to lower overall weight

Fantastic I own Harris bipods on most of my weapons tryed this one on AR 10 SASS wow yes it works tight at first but it breaks in I love the two position I was able to lower down on bench to onl 1 inch off bench made bean bag ajustment to stock so easy so accurate love this thing recommend there adapter for rail as it fits it perfectly snug

Cold barrel 3 shot group at 200 yards measures as .788" outside to outside (.480" center to center). That's 1/4 MOA!
No other support for the rifle - except my shoulder - was used.
Only Con I would say is it's pricey in a pricey world. OK, the materials and the work just don't add up to $200, but the performance does. I just may buy another for a different gun so I have the convenience of not swapping stuff around.
tactical bipod homerun(2016-05-02)
Been shooting for nearly 60 years. First time to use a bipod. Had no idea what I missed. Was able to overcome lousy shooting conditions with use of bipod. Only had access to 500 yards. Consistent hits at 500 on ram silhouette no problem. Bipod made extremely well and easy to use. Can't wait to shoot a little further. Wouldn't mind if you were able to get it a little lower, but added height in rear to overcome it.
Heavy duty bi-pod (2016-05-29)
I use have used this Bi-pod for three years now. Mostly for long range hunting. It is a not a cheap option But i have very little regrets in buying it . Yes it is very versatile yes it is sturdy and well manufactured as you can expect from the price you pay .
but yes it is also very bulky and very heavy for a by-pod .
After all is said and done if you are going to carry your rifle then it will be a very good choice .....if you have to carry your rifle on foot up mountains like me ...well i lighter version would assist to lower overall weight

Fantastic I own Harris bipods on most of my weapons tryed this one on AR 10 SASS wow yes it works tight at first but it breaks in I love the two position I was able to lower down on bench to onl 1 inch off bench made bean bag ajustment to stock so easy so accurate love this thing recommend there adapter for rail as it fits it perfectly snug
