good mount(2011-01-25)
I found it useful but the threads on the rifle need to be cleaned before installation to make sure that you dont ruin the screw that attaches this to the rifle
worst ever(2016-05-13)
The construction of the product was horrible. After mounting, the alignment was at least 3/8 off the bore axis to the left. It wasn't even long enough to center over the barrel. Being from springfield for a springfield rifle, you would think they would add the alignment ridge that fits into the factory made slot. NOPE. maching it up 4 times wore the bolt threads off. I didn't even really tighten it up but once to finally see that It would never ever work. excited to just shoot, the scope shifted after one shot. The picatinny rails were sooo loose it was ridiculous. I tried several of my rings that are tight on other rails and all were loose. Enough said
USE BLUE "Lock-Tite".(2018-05-20)
Regardless of what is written, this is going onto a .308 or 6.5 caliber weapon. Use brake cleaner, alcohol "Gun Scrubber", clean out the holes extensively. Let them DRY. It's made BY and FOR a Springfield. If you can't get this right? A SADLAK will destroy your YEAR.. I have the ALUMINUM one. STILL USE it. Common sense, directions and "LOCK-TITE" will result in a mount that for myself anyway? Has NEVER failed. Go look up the guy on YouTube who figures out what a miracle "LOCK-TITE" really can be. (He's using an M1A with the plastic stock).
Mine has held a ZERO and never shifted nor came lose after 2,700 rounds of .308....
