perfect value (2017-01-21)

Very well done for the price. The batch of 10 I ordered exceeded my expectations.

Failure! (2017-05-26)

1. There is a slight overlap of the gas hole in the block to the gas hole in the Brownells and Delton gas tubes. I had tried two gas tubes to verify fit. The gas hole in the block and the tube should line up together, but they didnât.

2. There was a slight bur left in the manufacturing process on the gas hole in the block. There were also two large burs left from the tapping of the set screw holes. When I originally put the gas block on the barrel I didnât think to check for burs. The burs in the gas block caused scraping and gouging on the barrel where the burs made contact. I had to take the gas block off and sand down the burs to eliminate the gouging.

3. As I torqued down one of the allen/hex set screws with an allen wrench I heard a pop. I looked at the gas block and found that the one of the set screws had cracked length wise down the screw. I tried to get the screw out as quickly as I could because it had blue Loctite on it. While attempting to remove the cracked set screw the head of the screw fell apart into several pieces. I then had to drill the screw out in order to remove the gas block from the barrel. I drilled through the screw and left a few thousands of an inch of material behind from the screw. I did not want to drill into the barrel so thatâs why I lift some of the screw material behind. I then tapped the gas block off the barrel, which left more gouging on the barrel.

Iâm not happy with the quality of this gas block. I decided to order a YHM gas block to replace this one. I hope the YHM gas block is better quality.

Easy install (2017-06-23)

Slick coating made installation easy. DÃ©tente holes and gas hole lined up perfectly with my Wilson lightweight barrel. Very quick and easy installation. Also installed one on a LaRue Stealth barrel. Same result.

5 star gas block (2017-07-15)

Used this gas block to help trim some fat off my rock river operator 2 at 8.1 lbs without accessories it was a bit heavy for me this gas block was one of the parts I used to bring the weight down the hole for the roll pin was straight no problems with the set screws the block went on easy and still a nice fit planning some builds soon and will use this block again no need to spend fifty bucks or more for a gas block when for less than twenty this one works just great good job Brownells.

Great gas block, cheap flimsy screws (2018-09-15)

The gas block itself is well machined with a nice finish. Fit was nice on my M&P 10. I installed just to test fit, didnât use loc tite and didnât over torque. When I tried to remove it to finish my project, the head of the screw stripped easily. After many attempts at removing it by driving in oversized bits, has to drill it out because the metal of the screw is so soft that it would just crumble. I feel sorry for anyone who has installed this if they ever have to remove it. Would not recommend, they need to consider using a harder steel for set screws.
