Best item for those hard to clean places(2013-12-28)
I had some build up on an AR that I built a few years ago. This tool took care of all the carbon without any CLP or solvents. I would highly recommend this to any AR owner; so much so much so that I gave these tools for Christmas presents to all my friends.
Makes short work out of cleaning (2015-01-08)
Got the .223 / 5.56 version and .308 version and they make short work out of cleaning the Carier Bolt Group (CBG) after doing a lot of shooting especially with dirty ammo. These probably aren't necessary for light shooting. Just a light wipe down with oil wipes but Deff nice to have around.
Fancy paper weight(2015-05-13)
This product promises much but doesn't deliver. It is too big in diameter to fit in any of my Bushmaster AR-15 bolts. The end of the tool to scrape the back of the bolt head works no better than a old worn out brass brush, the same can be said for the so called firing pin scraper. If you need a bolt scraper there are better on the market such as the Sinclair Mark Brown ones.
All show....... No go(2015-08-13)
All promise and very little performance. Used on 2 COLT BCG's (Old green label as well as a current production model) with little success. Sorry OTIS, this one is a washout! It's going back to Brownells.
Not Good(2017-07-10)
I have tried to use this product on multiple brands of rifles, with really no success. It does not scrap close enough to get all the carbon off. All still required the standard cleaning methods to finish it.
