The Hornady Lock-N-Load Ammo Concentricity Tool enables the hand loader to identify the bullet runout of each cartridge, and then eliminate it. Once a loaded round is inserted into the Lock-N-Load Ammo Concentricity Tool, the dial indicator is used to adjust the cartridge runout to zero. Easy to set up, and easy to fine-tune your rounds. We've found the Hornady Lock-N-Load Ammo Concentricity Tool to be especially helpful with factory ammunition.

Nice concentricity gauge design(2010-06-03)
Hornady uses a universal case head spindle and interchangeable spring loaded bullet spindles to locate cartridge in the fixture. The tool is easy to load and unload, readings are accurate and consistent and the alignment straightening feature is easy to use. The product is well made and easy to set up. Worked with everything from the .222 Remington to the .500 Jeffery and .45-70.
A real group tightner(2010-07-12)
Simple to use. Very effective in reducing flyers.
Great Product(2010-08-29)
Very easy setup and accurate
Simple is best(2010-09-02)
Easily corrects .002" runout, to >.0005" runout: assuming perfect neck to case concentricity. The beauty is you can actually see it on the dial indicator. It will NOT correct for runout in the neck to case body so be aware of what your reading on the indicator. However with this device you can get this information as well. It's very repeatable and well built.

I am new to reloading - and I first thought I would straighten a couple of factory rounds. This concentricity gauge works very well - and took at least 1/2 an inch off my group size.
As I started reloading more and more I have used this gauge as part of the process and check and fix any concentricty issues and my groups have become smaller.
This gauge works well - all components are precision made and easily adjustable. This is a quality piece of reloading equipment.
Highly recommend!(2011-04-21)
Just received mine today from Sinclair. Very impressed with the high quality materials and construction! Used a factory round, 300 Win mag and found it to be .008 out. Gave the adjuster knob (screw) a firm twist and it went down to .003. Gave it one more twist and got under .001! Hornady states that .002 - .003 run out will give optimum accuracy. I got less than .001! Anyone can use this tool! The rim fits into a large diameter precision ground shaft. The shaft is funnel shaped at the case end so the rim centers. The bullet end is spring loaded. Hornady gives you 3 bullet shafts that should fit any bullet nose. Simply pull the knob out, put in your round and turn the case with your finger. Find the low spot. Turn the adjuster screw which is opposite the indicator to push it back. Very happy with this tool! Worth every penny! [...]
Not up to the task!!(2011-05-12)
Upon receiving the Hornady concentricity unit we compared the Hornady unit to Sinclair's gauge. Finding the Hornady unit had .0025 clearance in the bullet spindle & gauge frame. This clearance = .006 irregularity in a round that Sinclair's gauge showed .0015!!! Hornady gauge exchanged for Sinclair unit.
Works great!(2012-11-30)
Wow,i can not believe how well and easy this tool works.just started playing around with it and i am amazed. It does exactly what they say it will.I am looking forward to shooting these rounds asap.So far i say hats off to hornaday, fair price well built, and can correct on the same tool that finds the runout.
Loves my new tool!(2013-01-09)
This product is my new favorite tool to use when Im reloading, checking rounds is so easy and correcting runout is a breeze, sometimes you have to go further than you think with the correcting screw, though now that I think about it you still have to have concentric wall thickness in your brass necks to get good runout on your bullet, next shells I load I will check the necks for concentricity(neck wall thickness) before I seat the bullet with my ball mic. Otherwise, this is the best 100 or so bucks Ive spent in awhile..
I have been handloading and shooting competitively for about 25 years and I am always looking for something to help get my ammunition as consistent as possible. This tool is absolutely amazing. After just a few minutes to familiarize myself with the operation of the tool, I was able to adjust my ammunition to a runout of +/- 0.001" with very little effort in very little time. I have had an opportunity to shoot the ammunition processed through this tool and saw a 0.25 MOA reduction in group size over ammunition from the same batch that had not been run through. I know that does not sound like much, but it is a HUGE deal when we are talking about ammunition I use to shoot at ranges from 1,000-2,000 yards.
There is one small problem that I experienced that prevented me from giving a 5-star rating despite the fact the tool works flawlessly. The snap ring that holds the Bullet Spindle Collar in the frame broke after I had processed less than 100 rounds of ammunition. Customer Service at Hornady was incredible. Not only did a live human being answer the phone, the representative had a new snap ring on its way to me in a a matter of minutes and at my rural address in 2 days. Sadly, it turns out a flaw in the casting and/or machining of the frame is the problem so the new snap ring was not the solution. I had to return the entire tool for replacement. I know that Hornady needs to manufacture their tools so that they function and can be sold for a profit and I am completely comfortable with that. It looks as though making the collar slightly larger and pressing/driving it into the frame would eliminate the need to rely on a flimsy snap ring,
Overall, this is an excellent product and I have become a fan of Hormady because of their knowledgeable and professional Customer Support team.
Great equipment for reloader(2015-02-06)
I have been reloading for some years and believed that I had every thing down pat. This product told a different story some of my loads were any where from .005 to 010 out. With min effort I corrected both factory and reloads to within .001. Simple to use and well made. Wanted to mount it on the rear wall of my work bench but the rubber O rings wound not hold the ball gauge. Little problem. Every reloader needs one of these.
You need this amazing machine(2015-05-03)
You need this amazing machine to load accurate ammunition. After trying every loading accuracy technique this showed me that bullet alignment is hit or miss at best. Wilson hand dies will do a great job for you after meticulous case prep. Forester benchrest dies and Redding are very good. This Hornaday concentricity machine will find bullet to case runout and allow you straighten your ammo. Some of the readings amazed me. As much as .006 out of alignment. A turn of the thumb screw, recheck by rotating the round again, and most misalignment will be removed. Again, an amazing machine that is much appreciated addition to my loading bench.
A must have for checking bullet runout.(2015-09-30)
Great, well made gage fixture, The base casting is heavy enough you don't have to bolt it down (though there are cast in ears in the base for that purpose). The fixture has become SOP for checking bullet runout after loading and it's easy to adjust bullet runout with the pusher screw on the sliding gage head. One gripe is that the double 'o' rings on the indicator stem aren't sufficient enough to stabilize the stem...I added a third and that cured that deficiency. I ran some factory rounds through it and was amazed at the bullet runout. It's imperative that the bullet enters the lands parallel to insure downrange flight is true. Every little bit hepls and this tool goes a long way to insuring downrange accuracy at extended distances.
Works Great(2015-10-16)
I have used the centricity gauge on all my loads since I got it. I'm developing loads for 2 calibers of varmint rifles and I'm looking for 1/4 minute accuracy out of them and getting it with some of my loads using various powders and bullets. I feel using the concentric gauge has helped a lot in tightening up my groups. I made an angled stand to put the gauge on as when sitting down the gauge needs to be angled in order to see & read the gauge. That is why I only gave it 4 stars.
Not that accurate.(2016-10-28)
The idea is good but the problem is that the base of a case is almost NEVER concentric with the rim. You'll see it If you move the dial indicator down by the base.
Neck Trimming Measurements(2017-07-17)
Tried using the concentricity gauge along with the neck thickness gauge and pilot for neck thickness measurements.
The spindle turns freely at all times. The pilot without a case inserted, when the spindle is turned, will vary 0.006, also the spindle can move in the frame 0.006. Hornady told me to hold the black ball with my right hand and to use my thumb to keep the movement in the housing to a minimum. What a joke the gauge measures to 0.0005 and the pilot can vary 0.012.
When I demonstrated, where I bought it they refunded my money.
